The Serpent’s Eye – A Glimpse Into Our Creative Process

At Lukali & Co, not every piece we create is destined for the showcase. Some are born from pure creativity — explorations in design, history, and imagination. The Serpent’s Eye Ring is one of those projects.

Crafted in yellow gold and set with a glowing red cabochon stone, this ring was designed as a study in storytelling through jewelry. The coiled band, reminiscent of a serpent’s body, represents transformation and rebirth. The deep red gemstone at the center serves as the “eye” — a symbol of vitality, strength, and inner fire.

Pieces like this allow us to push boundaries beyond commissions and collections. They give our artisans space to experiment with form, texture, and symbolism, blending traditional craftsmanship with myth-inspired design. Though not created for sale, the Serpent’s Eye Ring embodies what Lukali & Co is all about: imagination turned into tangible artistry.

Why We Create Pieces Like This:

  • To explore motifs and symbols outside of typical commissions

  • To refine techniques in band shaping, gemstone setting, and polishing

  • To showcase jewelry as art, not just accessory

  • To inspire future designs for custom clients

Every jewel has a story. Some stories are written for customers. Others — like this one — are written for the sake of creativity itself.
